Extreme Kayaking – Is It For You?

Xtreme kayaking is the type of kayaking you either love or loathe. Some people are attracted to it simply for the fast pace and adventure factor. But some people find it to be extremely dangerous and even deadly to their personal health. This is why Xtreme kayaking is not recommended for beginners at all, but only for those who know how to handle their kayak properly and have some sort of expertise to get them through any trouble they might encounter.

Most kayaks these days come with a carrying strap or an external pole holder that will attach to the boat, so you don’t have to worry about carrying a heavy kayak all the way from the shore to the water. If it uses fiberglass, it can easily break into sharp shards. Also, it might not survive in the harsh conditions of open water. Choose a hard material if you can to avoid such a tragedy.

Your kayak should be well maintained too. Use an oarlock when cleaning the inside of the kayak. The use of soap and water is not a good idea as it can damage the inner workings of the kayak. You might have to buy another one just to fix that one.

Make sure that your kayak doesn’t get heavy in the middle of the water. There are a few things that might do that. Things like a strong wind, waves, and rough seas can all do it.
